Palmer will address how, with advances in big data and the Internet of Things, transit fleets are poised for significant improvements in safety, efficiency and compliance and what’s key in making it all come together via advanced video-based safety and analytics platforms.
Palmer will be joined by Todd Cheever, safety director from Nassau County Transit (a Transdev-operated fleet), who will discuss how Nassau County is using data from its use of the SmartDrive video safety solution to reduce risk and improve operator safety. Cheever will explore how the fleet has experienced improvements in reducing collision severity, speeding, fatigue, unsafe braking and other driver-related events through a managed services program and driver coaching.
