SAN DIEGO, Feb. 2, 2015 — SmartDrive Systems, a leader in driving performance solutions that reduce collisions and improve fuel efficiency, today announced that SmartDrive, along with its customer G&P Trucking Company, Inc., will host a session at the 2015 TCA Recruitment & Retention Conference on leveraging video-based safety and coaching technology to identify and retain talented drivers. The 2015 TCA Recruitment & Retention Conference, taking place Feb. 4-6 in Nashville, Tenn., brings together industry experts and technology providers from all sectors of the transportation industry to discuss how today’s advanced fleet management technologies can strengthen recruitment strategies and boost driver retention.

Session title: Coaching Technology: Tools and Strategies for Attaining Retention Results
Date and time: Thursday, Feb. 5, 12:45 p.m. –1:45 p.m. CT and Friday, Feb. 6, 8:00 a.m. –9:00 a.m. CT
Location: Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Nashville, Tenn.
Speakers:

  • Greg Grubbs, vice president of human relations, safety and recruiting, G&P Trucking Company
  • Adam Kahn, senior director of marketing, SmartDrive Systems

With driver onboarding, orientation and qualification expenses accumulating to upwards of $5,000, losing and rehiring drivers is a burdensome process for fleets. Advanced integrated video systems grant fleet managers access to important information about a driver that they would otherwise not be privy to, such as specific driving skills and areas that require improvement. Securing this data on the front end can cut costs and allow fleet managers to invest money in the drivers best fitted for their company, proactively coach and work with them on areas of improvement to ensure job success.

This session will focus on how fleets can leverage video-based safety technology to identify and retain talented drivers. G&P Trucking Company will share first hand experiences with SmartDrive’s technology and how one-on-one driver-manager interaction and tailored coaching can foster a culture of safety, resulting in increased driver satisfaction and retention. Attendees will also learn how video-based safety solutions such as SmartDrive’s enable fleet managers to proactively recognize which driver is the right fit for the fleet through its real-time and in-depth data analysis.
