FreightWaves Names SmartDrive, Only Solution to Provide True Data Convergence, to FreightTech 100 List
For the Second Consecutive Year, the Leader in Video-based Safety and Transportation Intelligence is Recognized as One of the Industry’s Most Innovative and Disruptive Companies
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 28, 2019—SmartDrive Systems, a leader in video-based safety and transportation intelligence, today announced it was named to FreightWaves’ FreightTech 100 list for the second consecutive year. SmartDrive is the only video-based safety provider to be named to this list of innovative companies. The company’s repeated inclusion in the FreightTech 100 validates its promise to deliver solutions that help fleets improve fleet safety, identify and reduce risk, exonerate commercial vehicle drivers and make better business decisions.
“The transportation industry is in a state of transformation, requiring fleets to make decisions and extensive financial commitments to the new technology being released every day,” said Steve Mitgang, CEO of SmartDrive. “While other computer vision-based technologies operate in isolation, limiting fleets to only access the data available on their systems, SmartDrive’s program can merge data from a multitude of sources to provide users with an integrated understanding of their information. We’re excited to be recognized by FreightWaves for the second year in a row and appreciate this acknowledgement of SmartDrive’s commitment to continuous innovation and technology convergence.”
SmartDrive earned recognition for its flexible and extensible platform built around a single onboard data collection hub. In line with SmartDrive’s commitment to innovation and system openness, the SmartDrive Transportation Intelligence platform is equipped to integrate with third-party systems, empowering fleets to adapt to new technologies as they arise. This collaboration with third-party systems empowers customers to employ the best solutions for their unique fleet, without incurring the additional costs associated with managing multiple onboard devices. Since its release, technology partners – including Geotab, WABCO and others – have leveraged the platform’s convergence capabilities.
The FreightTech 100 highlights the most innovative and disruptive companies across the freight industry, featuring both cutting-edge upstarts and top-notch traditional powers. This year’s list is the result of over 1,200 nominations for 255 unique companies.
“This is not a ‘pay to play’ competition. The companies that make it into the FreightTech 100 do so because they are changing the freight industry in new and dynamic ways,” FreightWaves CEO Craig Fuller said. “We want to recognize the most innovative and disruptive companies out there.”
Companies named in the FreightTech 100 will be judged by an external panel of industry experts, with voting conducted and overseen by accounting firm Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM). The FreightTech 25 will be announced at FreightWaves LIVE in Chicago, which is scheduled for November 12-13. The top five companies will receive special recognition.
