Boyle Transportation Credits SmartDrive Program as Key Factor in Winning TCA Grand Prize for National Fleet Safety

SAN DIEGO, May 22, 2018—SmartDrive Systems, a leader in video safety and transportation intelligence, today announced that customer Boyle Transportation, recipient of the 2017 Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Grand Prize for National Fleet Safety, cited its use of the SmartDrive® 360 and SmartDrive SmartIQ® solutions as a key factor in its selection for the recognition. The winner in the small carrier division, Boyle demonstrated stringent fleet safety program standards, on and off the highway, and was judged to have the strongest commitment to improving safety on North American highways.

Since implementing the SmartDrive program, Boyle has achieved significant safety improvements, including a 95 percent reduction in instances of unsafe following distance, 97 percent reduction in the number of incomplete stops at stop signs and 88 percent reduction in the number of unsafe lane changes. In addition, the fleet has experienced a 90 percent improvement in its SmartDrive Safety Score, an objective measurement of risk based on specific driving habits.
