SmartDrive Systems integrates Bing Maps for Enterprise

SmartDrive is the first solution to enable fleet managers to visually pinpoint problem safety areas to reduce crashes

San Diego, California - June 4, 2009 - SmartDrive Systems, a leader in driver safety solutions, today announces a comprehensive product integration of Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Bing Maps for Enterprise (formerly Microsoft Virtual Earth) into the SmartDrive Measured Safety Program. For the first time, fleet managers can instantly view all of their safety events-of-interest on a map in a single click, with all of the zoom and viewing capabilities that are an inherent part of Bing Maps, to visualize trends in unsafe driving behaviors that may not have been obvious previously.

"My first time using SmartDrive with integrated maps was an enlightening experience," said Mike Connell of Karst Stage airport and bus transportation in Bozeman, MT. "In minutes, I was able to pinpoint an area where my drivers had made multiple incomplete stops in the past week, and could coach my staff before crashes occur. Safety of our drivers and of our community is extremely important to Karst Stage, and SmartDrive continues to provide us with the most innovative driver safety programs available."

The maps will be fully integrated into all existing SmartDrive accounts later in June and will be included as a core feature of the Program at no additional cost.
