In Vehicle System
SmartDrive's in-vehicle approach to increasing vehicle safety consistently reinforces safe vehicles and safe driving. This helps put more safe drivers on the road and helps professional drivers document the bad driving of others that may interfere with their duties. SmartDrive's expert Safety Team helps ensure consistent safety and training are delivered across the organization in an objective manner. This approach - daily analysis and management - delivers a guaranteed, ongoing improvement in driver safety.
A Safety Tool, Not “Big Brother”
SmartDrive's palm-sized, “exception-based” video event recorder is mounted on the windshield behind the rearview mirror and captures both video and audio inside and outside of the vehicle. Exceptional forces, such as hard braking, swerving, and collisions cause the recorder to save critical seconds of audio and video footage immediately before and after the triggered event. An event is only recorded when something goes wrong. And, most professional drivers know that research has shown that the overwhelming majority of accidents are caused by non-professional drivers. SmartDrive enables these professional drivers to have a video and audio recording that will exonerate them from blame and save them and their company money from defending themselves from a plaintiff who might be motivated by the potential benefit of suing a large company.
Downloads To Web Platform
When the video event recorder is triggered, the SmartDrive in-vehicle system saves 15 seconds before the event and 15 seconds after the event. When the vehicle returns to its home base, SmartDrive’s automated systems wirelessly download the saved "events" via WiFi access point to a secure website. Company risk managers, safety managers and fleet managers can then log onto the SmartDrive website to view any and all driving "events" from each of their vehicles and utilize the Measured Safety Program to better keep their drivers and their vehicles safe.
Review, Analyze and Score
SmartDrive's highly trained fleet safety experts review all triggered video events via a triple-review, binary system that sorts out false-positives and rates the severity of any driving event. This information is then delivered daily to the fleet or safety manager's desktop in an easy to understand, concise format which highlights the specific incidents, and their root causes, the cornerstone of SmartDrive’s Measured Safety Program.
SmartDrive University
SmartDrive's Measured Safety Program enables fleet managers to consistently and effectively keep their drivers safe. When these drivers return to the roadways, they have graduated from SmartDrive University, thus helping companies retain drivers by investing in their well being and providing them safer jobs.
