SmartDrive’s in-vehicle hardware consists of 2 small cameras—one facing forward, the other facing the driver—that are continuously recording. When a driving “event” occurs, 15 seconds before and 15 seconds after the event are stored on video. As a result, drivers try NOT to cause an “event“ that will be measured.
